First Tee – Met New York
Building Game Changers

In 2001 the MGA Foundation and the Metropolitan Section PGA launched First Tee – Metropolitan New York at Mosholu Golf Course & Driving Range in the Bronx. This partnership and the facility’s unique location provide a special opportunity to positively affect the lives of thousands of young people in the Metropolitan New York area each year through the game of golf.  At the Mosholu Campus in The Bronx, The Lew Rudin Youth Learning Center and The Wilf Family Training Center feature a nine-hole course, driving range, practice green, chipping green, clubhouse, and classroom/meeting space.  In addition to the Mosholu Campus, First Tee – Metropolitan New York has campuses at Eisenhower Park in Nassau County,  Plainfield Nine at Plainfield Country Club in NJ as well as Essex County, NJ.  Programs are also delivered at Game on Golf in Westchester, PGA Tour Superstores in the Met Area due to a partnership with the City Parks Foundation, programs are delivered at Dyker Beach in NYC.

By seamlessly integrating the game of golf with a life skills education curriculum, we provide active learning experiences that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids carry to everything they do.  We also create safe communities where kids can learn and grow together with the support of caring mentors, coaches and educators.

Our signature Path to College Program – created by First Tee – Metropolitan New York is taught by skilled educators.  100% of Path to College participants graduate high school and attend a competitive college.  100% of our Ace scholars entering 9th grade are accepted into competitive college-prep high schools.  97% of participants demonstrate a significant increase in core academic subjects.   To learn more about Path to College, click here.
